The Hinowa lithium effect – flexible working and tears of joy

Hinowa

Roofer Adam Borg’s customers are enjoying the sounds of silence thanks to his use of lithium battery electric Hinowa spider lifts to work on their homes.

The forward-thinking owner of A2B Rapid Response Maintenance benefits from more flexible and productive working thanks to his use of the low-noise and zero emissions platforms.

Adam Borg said: “Using a lithium Hinowa is brilliant. We can start work on a house at six in the morning if it helps the householder, because we know we won’t disturb neighbours.

“For that matter, it’s appreciated by the householder as well, because they can go about their business barely knowing we’re set up in their drive or working at height from their garden.”

More responsive operations

The company operates two lithium battery Hinowa Lightlift 15.70 Performance IIIS spider booms and a dual energy petrol and 110v Hinowa 15.70 Lightlift.

Adam Borg, whose business is based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, has also placed an order for a new lithium battery Hinowa Lightlift 17.75, which will be arriving soon.

APS is the UK and Ireland authorised distributor for all Hinowa products. APS regional sales manager Jonathan Wiseman said: “Adam’s operations perfectly demonstrate the advantage of Hinowa spider lifts and lithium power.

“The combination is allowing him to provide more responsive and more cost-effective service to customers while quickly growing a business that he only started two years ago.”

Eliminating scaffolding costs

As well as extending working hours in built up areas into the early morning and evenings, carrying out roofing work from Hinowa spider lifts can often ease the cost of roof repairs for customers.

Adam Borg explained: “Scaffolding can be up to ten times the cost of the repair itself. So people put off getting roofing work done, which can allow problems caused by defect to get worse.

“Then we come along, and work from one of our Hinowa spider lifts, and they’re shocked at how quickly we can sort their problem. We’ve had people in tears because they’re so relieved the repair’s been done.”

Adam Borg and his growing team of roofers take full advantage of the compactness of Hinowa spider lifts as they work on both privately-owned homes and properties rented out by housing associations.

Missing tiles, loose flashing, defective soffits and leaky roof skylights can all be reached and repaired with ease thanks to the impressive working height and reach of the spider platforms the company uses.

Hinowa Lightlift

Safer and more productive

Hinowa spider lifts are designed to have very narrow chassis – the Lightlift 15.70 is 780mm wide when stowed for tracking, and the Lightlift 17.75 is 790mm wide – so they can be moved through garden gates and down narrow paths.

Once their outriggers are set up, and the platform is automatically levelled with a touch of one button, they are ready for work.

The Hinowa Lightlift 15.70 has a maximum working height of 15m and a maximum outreach of 6.6m, while the Hinowa Lightlift 17.75 can reach a working height of up to 17m and an outreach of 7.5m.

An unrestricted basket capacity of 230kg, responsive controls, and an array of safety features make the spider cherry pickers simple and safe to use, with precision basket placement for optimum working positions.

Both platforms can be supplied with bi-energy power, with a petrol or diesel engine plus 110v cabled mains electric power, as well as in the lithium battery format selected by A2B Rapid Response Maintenance.

Hinowa

Silent treatment

Working from Hinowa platforms is safer and more productive, says Adam Borg, both attributes valued by the housing associations his teams work for.

They also appreciate the way working from lithium battery platforms gives their tenants the silent treatment – in the nicest possible way – so peace and quiet is perfectly maintained, as well as their homes.
