Powered access hire specialist JMS is expanding its customer offering, after investing in a MEC Titan Boom 60-S.
The unique Titan Boom combines the stability and rough terrain capabilities of a telehandler with the reach of a telescopic boom and the large work space and load capacity of a big deck scissor lift. With a safe working load of 1,350kg, it provides a maximum height of 18.3 metres and horizontal outreach of up to 14.6m.
Mark Jackson, Managing Director of JMS, said: “The MEC Titan 60-S boom is a monster of a machine. It has a unique design, with features of a telehandler, a scissor lift, and a boom all in one machine.
“This will allow our customers to carry out a wider range of tasks with just one machine. It has the deck size of a large diesel scissor, with the horizontal reach out of a large boom lift, plus excellent lifting capacity.”
Access Platform Sales (APS), the exclusive UK distributor for MEC, supplied the Titan Boom to JMS and will provide comprehensive after-sales support.
The award-winning Titan Boom is a versatile and highly manoeuvrable machine. Its rough terrain capabilities include 25cm ground clearance, 40% grade-ability and chassis levelling of up to 10 degrees. Operators can select 2-wheel steer, 4-wheel steer or crab steer, depending on site conditions.
Large, dual side gates ensure quick and easy material loading onto the deck. The platform’s integrated Load Zone can accommodate a wide range of MEC-designed and fully approved specialty attachments including pipe cradle, glazier rack, cladding rack, glazier side attachments, pipe rack, work bench, sheet material rack and platform canopy.
“There is growing demand for access equipment that allows extended, often multi-tasking, teams to work at height with large or heavy materials and equipment,” added Mark. “The MEC Titan 60-S is perfect for the job.
“MEC machines have a reputation for quality and innovation, and the MEC Titan 60-S boom is no exception. We’re very pleased to be able to offer it to our access hire customers.”
The MEC Titan Boom 60-S is available for hire nationally through JMS’s depots in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, and Leeds, West Yorkshire.
