Spider lifts, tracked plant and material lifts distributed by Access Platforms Sales have impressed visitors at two leading trade shows – Vertikal Days and the APF Exhibition.
Hinowa spider lifts were the stars at the APS stands for both events, but other high-performance equipment was also of significant interest as visitors considered renewing their equipment fleets.
Hannah Treggalles, Internal Sales and Marketing Director at APS, said: “We were very pleased with the response from visitors at both events, with a lot of activity at our stands and order enquiries placed.
“APS’s continued focus on distributing the best quality equipment, with an eye on innovations that drive forward the access and materials handing industries, is welcomed by our customers.”
Most capable platform
APS had one of the most eye-catching access platforms on display at Vertikal Days, held at the Newark Showground, Nottinghamshire, as the new Hinowa Lightlift 40.18 spider lift towered over the stand.
The tracked articulating boom, which has a maximum working height of 40.2m and a maximum outreach of 17.5m, is now Hinowa’s largest platform – and the most capable spider platform in the 40-50m range.
The APS sales team also presented the Hinowa Lightlift 17.75 and Hinowa Lightlift 18.80 spider lifts, demonstrating how both can be towed on a trailer using a standard car driving licence, as well as a Hinowa HS701 minidumper.
Also on the stand were Wienold Lifte material lifts, including the MRC 751 mini rotating crane and the GML800+, and APS’s impressive new range of ToughLift material lifts, including the TL-15 and the TL-25.
Tracked machines
At the APF Exhibition, held at the Ragley Estate, Warwickshire, the leading arboriculture event, the focus was on tracked spider lifts and machines designed to support tree care and woodland management.
APS showed off three spider cherry pickers – the Hinowa Lightlift 20.10, the Hinowa Lightlift 17.75 and the Hinowa Lightlift 18.80 – as well as a Hinowa TP1600 tracked forklift and the Hinowa HS701 minidumper.
Visitors were interested in the Hinowa forklift and minidumper because if their ability to carry logs, wood chips, bagged and palleted materials and equipment across unstable and rough terrain.
Tree surgeons made a beeline for the Hinowa spider lifts, the market leading platform for working on trees in the UK and across Europe.
Bi-energy power popularity
The Hinowa LL 20.10 remains the most popular model for tree work – as the largest platform in the range (working height: 20.1m, outreach: 9.7m) that can be towed by a 4x4 car on a 3.5t trailer.
However, the Hinowa LL 18.80 (working height: 18.55m, outreach: 7.8m) also caught the eye, with its hydraulic hoses and cabling stowed in the boom, eliminating snagging risks.
APS Regional Sales Manager Jonathan Wiseman said: “There was a lot of interest in Hinowa spider lifts at the APF Exhibition, with one platform sold off the stand and many other enquiries made for quotes.
“The Hinowa Lightlift 18.80, which has a low-noise, low-emissions twin-cylinder Kubota diesel engine, received a lot of attention. What’s interesting, also, is the interest in bi-energy diesel and lithium battery power.
“The bi-energy diesel-lithium Hinowa 18.80 is light enough to be towed on a trailer and delivers the advantage of silent and zero-emissions operation on sensitive sites, such as hotels, care homes and schools.”
He added: “Tree management specialists are telling us it’s a capability more and more arboriculture service users are appreciating and asking for, and we have customers who are definitely benefiting from the trend.”
