Active Access has become the first customer in Europe to take delivery of 11-metre diesel scissor lifts from Chinese manufacturer LGMG.
The access rental specialist has taken an initial six LGMG SR1018D all-terrain scissors supplied by LGMG’s UK and Ireland distributor Access Platform Sales.
Active Access, based in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, in Scotland, has built up a fleet of 28 LGMG scissor lifts in recent months.

Simple controls – good build quality
Company owner Seref Zengin said: “We first invested in electric scissors and were pleased with their performance, with very good feedback from customers.
“They liked the simple controls, good build quality and powerful, long-lasting battery charge, and there have been no niggles or complaints, which is telling.”
The very positive response has now given Active Access confidence to add the LGMG SR1018D diesel platform to its fleet.
Seref Zengin said: “We could see the SR1018Ds follow the same design principles as our electric LGMGs, which is good to see.
“Too many modern platforms are very complicated which can confuse customers, even our engineers. That doesn’t appear to be the case with LGMG platforms.”
Quick to prepare for rental
LGMG’s simple-is-best approach meant the LGMG SR1018D scissor lifts were also quick to prepare for rental.
Seref Zengin said: “As soon as they were delivered we could send them out after quick checks. This indicates that turnarounds between hires will be fast as well, which is a big benefit for us.”
Active Access operates a comprehensive fleet of boom lifts, scissor lifts, and low access platforms – as well as Hinowa spider platforms which were also supplied by APS.

Compact chassis
The LGMG SR1018D rough terrain scissor has a maximum working height of 11.7m and a platform capacity of 454kg.
The MEWP combines a compact chassis with a large platform (2.8m x 1.6m), maximising manoeuvrability and productivity.
Four wheel drive with oscillating axles and stowed gradeability of 350 help ensure the LGMG SR1018D scissor will cope with the most rugged construction site.
Active Access’s fleet now includes the compact LGMG SS0407E (1330) electric scissor lift which has a maximum working height of 5.6m and lift capacity of 240kg.
It also has the AS0607WE (1932) electric scissor lift, with a maximum working height of 7.8m and a lift capacity of 230kg, and the LGMG AS0808E electric scissor lift, which provides a maximum working height of 10m and lift capacity of 230kg.
Its latest deliveries have included the company’s first LGMG diesel scissor lifts. The LGMG SR1018D (3369RT) rough terrain scissor has a maximum working height of 11.7m and a platform capacity of 454kg.
